dream

someone was chasing a cat through a mazelike place, getting directions from an unseen professor. in the end, it turned out the professor was the cat, and the cat vaguely turned into some kind of furry rug.

cool dream... don't feel obliged to respond, but, where were you in the dream? Where you that someone chasing, or just an observer? Or were you the professor-cat?

How high were the walls? I once made a painting of Icarus and Daedalus in the labyrinth. The labyrinth was walls only, and hence open to the sky. If they had the necessary tools, they could have climbed on top of the walls and walked them like a tightrope walker, enjoying the bird's-eye view. (from the right vantage point, solving the maze is trivial).

i am not sure whether i was a participant, spectator, or both. nor can i say anything about the walls, because it was literally a maze-like place, not a maze. i don't remember any intentially placed walls, just more like a very winding area.

note on identity: lately my dreams have contained a lot of blurring of identity. there was a very tense fight scene in my dream last night, when in my dream i suddenly realized i was dreaming. my response was fairly fascinating: i realized that i was dreaming, so all of the people i was fighting were actually just one person, and the people with me were just one person. they combined. then i somehow combined both sides of the fight as well, and the fight was resolved.

however, at somepoint i was with a number of my friends here and there was a long dream sequence involving secret police, subversive suspicions, imprisonment, torture, questions of trust, sabotage, and faith. very epic. perhaps more bardic than prophetic ;)
